Didnt start getting good until around 7th chapter.
I didnt think much about this app when I first picked it up. Ive already got a metric boatload of Japanese study material and a native speaker to my whimsy. The thing about this app is- its better than all of that. Then delivered in a package that pretty, entertaining and informative. Not to belittle some popular Japanese study book, but the medium of a tablet or phone works better here and this app shows off what a good app can do.
Heres a tip from someone who has the phone and the tablet version: the tablet is better. If you have the mini, its a perfect app. Im using an 6plus and the screen is still too small. If you dont have a tablet, ask your college professors if they can lease a tablet for you in their name.
I didnt think too much about this app until it started to explain sentence structure and then the translations that go with it. Why not sooner? Ive already studied, memorized and drill the hiragana and its modifiers into my skull. If youve done this than thats the first 5 chapters. Chapter 6 is greeting. Dont skip over the greetings theres nuggets of information which even I didnt know- cultural differences. Its at chapter 7 that really made the difference. If youve struggled with understanding sentences in Japanese and why things dont make sense but they should this is where the app earned my money. Twice.
