This is REALLY good app. Show everything step by step. Its write really nice, not boring. Learning was FUN for the first time ;3 I reccomend it with pleasure

As a gamer forever that I an, the experience system completely succeeds to motivate me. Besides, the text is richly interwoven with HQ pictures, the lessons are short enough to make it through while containing not only the language facts, but also trivia about the country. Mightly glad I found this one, 5★ =^.^=

This is the app I was looking for! I was a total beginner with Japanese and I found this course perfect: it explains in an easy and funny way how to write, read and combine together the characters. Ill surely buy the complete version!!

Too bad I cant skip to a certain chapter without clearing prior levels, but it is a fun learning tool.

When it comes to learning hiragana and katakana, i used other apps to give me a strong foundation like mnemonics. This app builds on that and more. You literally get an entire crash course on japanese history, language structure, and other lessons. I have learned so much and i am just getting through chapter 6. If this app cost $50 i would buy it! Its that good! But lets hope they dont lol very fun language to learn and excited to keep going! Hope they can get a Thai version soon *wink wink* developers

This app is beautifully designed and makes excellent use of multimedia, including colorful pictures, audio pronunciations, and animated stroke order for kana. Its a pleasure to use. Ive only gone through the first few chapters and am looking forward to what comes after the kana (as I already know them - even so, it is an enjoyable review).

I highly enjoy this app. Ive been wanting to learn Japanese for quite some time, but Ive been too busy and this app makes it so easy to learn.

So far Ive downloaded 11 Japanese apps to help with my studies but this app is hands down the best! It makes me really enjoy learning Japanese and explains things in ways that are easier to remember and understand.

I am very picky about apps and I dont like to spend money on them but HJ is the best Japanese app if youre actually serious about learning the language. My advice is to get this app for learning the language itself and then the free Memrise app for studying vocab words.

The writer gives good advice on learning the japanese alphabet but what i like most is the detailed description on the proper way to write the strokes and nuances. The tone is also casual and supportive, and not monotonous, making learning the material easier.

The learning approach is very helpful, and with the illustrations its easier to understand.

I just started on this app (only on chapter 3), but so far it has been very comprehensive and easy to use! It provides much more of a foundation than apps like duolinguo in that you learn the why and how behind words and grammatical structures.

Before I downloaded this, I thought I would delete it right after like the others apps. I tried it out the first few minutes and then I didnt put it down! Its amazing! It goes over the basics of hiragana, ect. Ive learned a lot over a short period of time of using this app! I just cant believe its free! I recommended this app to anyone looking to learn Japanese. Thanks, developers, keep up the good work!

At first, I dreaded going through this and having to rote memorize a whole series of diagrams, (knowing that the numbers of characters in Chinese was voluminous), originally written by the Chinese, and adapted in different ways by the Japanese. But this program, by keeping it paced, simple, and logical, has me looking forward for more...

Like others here, Ive tried my fair share of Japanese learning apps. This does have a lot of reading to it but you feel like youre in a lecture for the language. The history of the language as well as the Japanese culture are infused into the app. I deleted my other Japanese apps. This one is magnificent.
