I JUST got the app and its already the best one I have encountered! I have at least downloaded 11 apps for learning Japanese and all off em have in app purchases, so I was scrolling through the App Store trying to find one with no in app purchases, and look what I find!!! The perfect app for learning Japanese!

I am new to learning Japanese and so I wasnt sure how an app would approach a language that didnt use the Roman alphabet. So far Ive been pleasantly surprised. The writing has been conversational and engaging. It keeps a light tone which keeps the process fun and exciting. Highly recommended!

Great start.. But if you go on to get the real version on your iPhone, you have to buy it again on your iPad. Strange, in my opinion, given the price (not cheap). But the app itself is fantastic (and the lite version at least teaches you the alphabet and some interesting things about the country of Japan). It makes a COMPLETELY foreign difficult language make some sense, and the very personable style is fun.

Teacher takes mystery and OMG out of learning. Makes very relevant comparisons how English and Japanese are similar. Ex. One stroke in Japanese can alter a word. But same is true in English: interior-inferior. I am excited to study and am very pleased I got this course.

This app is a great resource to learning Japanese! The way everything is taught feels very natural and is easy to learn! This is a definite recommendation to those who want to learn a new language.

I am taking intro Japanese class and downloaded this app as a supplement. Ive found it to be as good (better in some ways) as attending class and much better than reading Genki 1 textbook alone. Clear, understandable and very interesting/ engaging. Fantastic app!

This course is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this system to anyone who has an interest in learning how to read, speak and understand Japanese.

I went through a few Japanese apps. Being the weeaboo I am, this app is awesome; it walks you through the language in great depth. It has quizzes with a points system. Honestly thats my favorite part, and it provides Japanese lore and explanations for the way the words are. It feels like you are talking to someone; it is like you have your own personal teacher when you use this app. The interactive quizzes are great.

This is a great app because it systematically approaches understanding Japanese language and hiragana in a way that is clear, and can be learned at your own pace. His approach demystifies the hiragana and i am excited to learn to read at the same time as speak. I work with Japanese patients and workers and it will be great to continue these studies because your format of instruction is so straightforward. I definitely recommend this app highly!

Love how it starts from the basics and works its way through so people who are just beginning to learn Japanese can better comprehend how it works. Very well written and easy to understand as the author explains each chapter step by step. One of the best language learning apps Ive had!

The other apps I tried left me bored, confused, perplexed, and sometimes all three. I find this app to be incredibly educational about both Japan and the Japanese language. It even helped me confront my fear of hiragana. I use this app with Pimsleur recordings and the combination is about perfect.

It provides background information that helps you understand culture and explanations that are easy to follow. Whoever wrote this wrote their words in a careful way. Text is almost conversational. I love it.

Im just starting out with Japanese and have tried a few other free courses, but this one is by far the easiest to understand! It has explained everything in an extremely comprehensive way, and I finally feel like I am getting somewhere with this language! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn Japanese.

Starts a little slow but really picks up learning at a good pace taking the quizzes is essential since u figure out a lot during the quizzes overall vary good

Ive only gone a few slides in, but Im already learning a lot! And its not dull either- the writing style is very friendly! Love it!
